Rain: 14

I have a bit of a case of cabin fever.
My car is still in the mechanic shop, and the rain continues.
Thank goodness we live on our Farm where I can get outside, even if I do wind up covered in mud and muck.

Tomorrow night we are going out for dinner with our young friend, and I will be reminding myself of this awesome quote I read the other day:
I pay for a satisfied stomach, not an empty plate.

I’m looking forward to an evening out.
I’m in the process of getting a lot of stuff organised for when I’m post-op, and can maybe possibly not do as much as I usually would.
Part of that process is tidying and cleaning up my pantry.

Oh, and I had a few non-scale related little victories today:

1 – whereupon I sat on the floor in our pantry!!
This might not be a big deal to anyone else, but it’s a very big deal to me as the space available to sit in only measures 65cm x 65cm.
I wouldn’t have even attempted to do that a month ago.

2 – I went to the loo and instead of unzipping my pant and pulling them down, I pulled them down while still zipped up!
I also would not have attempted this a month or more ago, as I had stopped wearing these particular pants as they were too tight for me to be able to do up.

3 – I’ll be a little delicate about this one, but suffice to say there were no contortions today – just a ‘normal’ reach and swipe.
Until you have been in the position where doing daily hygiene necessities like wiping your own butt is more like a pretzel gymnastics performance; then you will never understand how the loss of only a few kilos can make such a huge difference to someone’s life.

Nuff said!
